Outside the traditional cinema sphere, Byron produced the video game Unknown Number, which swept the NYX Game Awards last year, claiming titles for Best Indie Game, Best Storytelling, Best Innovation, and Best Performance. It was also an Official Selection for the London Games Festival 2022, in the ‘Narrative Excellence’ category. Metro described it as “an enticing puzzle adventure that tells a great story… a truly impressive feat for a tiny indie studio”.
Beyond his production work, Byron co-founded Script Compass in 2020, a development house that earned the title 'Best London Creative Start-Up' in the UK StartUp Awards this year. In 2021, the South African Chamber of Commerce in London recognised him as the 'Rising Star of the Year'.
